PATTERSON HEIGHTS: ALA Quick Pick for Reluctant Readers

My first YA novel, actually, correction, my first novel, PATTERSON HEIGHTS was recently chosen by the American Library Association as a 2010 Quick Pick for Reluctant Readers.

To Blog or Not To Blog?

So for some time now (years actually), I've neglected my blog. See I used to blog all the time when I had the humble little blog I started in 2005 over at Blogger. Granted, I was never daily with it.

First Review for PATTERSON HEIGHTS

While doing some research on Barnes & Noble, I came across a review for PATTERSON HEIGHTS. The first I've seen actually. And it's a great one!

My Visit to Ocean County Public Library

I had the pleasure to visit Ocean County Public Library system for three days in July. It was a packed few days. During my time there, I facilitated four interactive workshops for teens at a juvenile detention center and at three branch libraries. The theme of the workshops was "This is Me" and the young people had the opportunity to create soundtracks to their lives.

Need a Speaker?

Need a Speaker?

Fall is right around the corner and many schools and organizations will begin planning for Spring events. If you're in need of a speaker, consider...me. I know, blatant self-promo. But I wouldn't suggest myself if I didn't believe in the programming I provide.

New Interview with Me on ThisisRealMusic.com

Shout-out to the folk over at ThisisRealMusic.com. They interviewed me last year at the Black Lily Film Festival in Philadelphia. You can check out the interview here. It's very, very hard for me to watch myself. So far I've seen a few moments of it to declare that I'm looking a little crazy. But hopefully, you'll enjoy it!

This month, IT'S ALL LOVE, the wonderful anthology edited by Marita Golden, is having two readings in Baltimore to celebrate the book. Below is more information. I hope to see you at one of the readings!

Felicia and Phonte

"With "The Message," Felicia Pride has perfectly illustrated the motivational nature of rap music, and how it relates to the hip-hop generation. For those who would argue that hip-hop music is a destructive force, "The Message" shows evidence to the contrary and proves there is positivity in rap music for those who want to embrace it."--Phonte of Little Brother

Check Me Out at Clutch
