National Buy a Book by a Black Author and Give it to Somebody Not Black Month
Publishing/Literary
She's even started a blog called White Readers Meet Black Authors in an attempt to try to break black books out of their "black boxes."
I definitely understand her concern. It reminds me of a post I did on the old BackList blog (can't find the particular post), awhile back in response to a white author who wondered why didn't she know more black writers. Also reminds me of this article.
Though I wonder how effective Brice's approach will be. But thus far, New York Magazine has added her website to their approval matrix.
What do you think?
