BackList, a media, consulting, content development and event programming firm dedicated to harnessing the power of words to uplift individuals and communities is looking for an intern assistant to help with various projects. The internship is a wonderful opportunity for aspiring writers, marketers and word lovers to get their feet drenched!

Potential duties include:
*Write and edit copy for BackList website (www.thebacklist.net)
*Perform marketing outreach on behalf of BackList.
*Help implement BackList workshops and consulting services.
*Assist BackList founder, Felicia Pride to implement comprehensive marketing plan for her book THE MESSAGE:100 LIFE LESSONS FROM HIP-HOP'S GREATEST SONGS. This includes online marketing, event planning, publicity and marketing research.
*Attend and help at events/workshops when possible.
*Administrative duties
*Research
*Online marketing

The position is a mixture of on-site work at BackList's home office in Baltimore, virtual work, as well as participation in evening and weekend literary events, when possible. The position will require 10-15 hours per week. Candidates should reside in the Baltimore/DC metro area and be able to meet with BackList staff once a week. This is an unpaid position but will prove to be an invaluable experience!

Qualified candidates will be dependable, organized, creative, web savvy, committed and have a strong interest in words, education, youth and media. This opportunity will begin September 1.

BackList, a media, consulting and content development and event programming organization dedicated to harnessing the power of words to uplift individuals and communities is looking for an intern assistant to help with its various educational programming, projects and events.

The internship is a wonderful opportunity for college and graduate students with majors or concentrations in education.

Potential duties include:
*Write and edit copy for BackList website (www.thebacklist.net)
*Lesson plan writing
*Book reviews
*Blogging
*Research
*Help to create and implement BackList educational workshops, seminars and consulting services.
*Aid in the content creation of an e-magazine for educators.
*Administrative duties

The position is a mixture of on-site work at BackList's home office, virtual work as well as participation in workshops and seminars. The position will require 10-15 hours a week. Candidates should reside in the Baltimore/ Washington DC metro area and be able to meet with BackList's staff once a week (sometimes at the home office in Baltimore). This is an unpaid position but will prove to be an invaluable experience.Qualified candidates will be dependable, organized, creative, web savvy, committed and have a strong interest in education, literacy and reading.
